Hello, I am Sandra Elsweiler, the woman behind Dragonfly Illustration. I am a freelance painter/illustrator and graphic designer. I was born in Germany, matured in Ireland, lived in Spain for a bit... and am now living in Zeeland in the Netherlands.
I studied Art Design Education, and Visual Communication at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Ireland, where I specialized in Illustration and Fine-Art.
Since graduating in the year 2000, I have worked for a number of different clients on an international basis, including Paulo Coelho and Poolbeg, Ireland.
I have exhibited my work in Germany, Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands.
In 2000, I produced my own Children's Book: 'Murphy, a cat's story', which I wrote, illustrated, and designed myself (with a little help from my cat Murphy of course :)
For the international bestselling Author Paulo Coelho, I painted and designed five promotion posters for his book "Veronika decides to die". The posters have been on view on Paulo Coelho's website since 2001.
In 2002, I illustrated the children's book: "A Giant Never Dies" and “Billy and the Bees”. Both books are published by Poolbeg, Ireland.
